You can work out how much carbon pollution
your vehicle or your lifestyle produce, using the Australian
Greenhouse Calculator.
See - www.epa.vic.gov.au/AGC/home.html
Also, this website may be useful; www.greenfleet.com.au
Vehicle Offsets with Greenfleet are used to plant trees and cost
about $60.00 a year for a medium sized car.
Most Australian cars use unleaded petrol and have a fuel
efficiency of about 11 litres per 100 kilometers. Also, the
‘average’ car generates about 275g CO2-e (greenhouse gases) per
kilometer, which means about 4 tonnes of greenhouse gas per
year.
Apparently, one litre of unleaded petrol generates around 2.5kg
of greenhouse gas. One litre of diesel fuel generates about
2.9kg. One litre of LPG generates around 1.7kg.
