BECOME A CARBON COMPENSATOR!


We are inviting members of the public to purchase $10 ‘Carbon Compensators’ to help compensate for some of the environmental impact of their vehicle emissions. 100% of this money will be used to pay for solar panels or solar hot water systems on Community buildings.

Any number of Carbon Compensators can be purchased.

It is a simple way for people to help compensate for their vehicle emissions. It also empowers members of the public to support renewable energy projects.

 

Participants will know which Community Building installation their Carbon Compensators paid for. The installations will be shown on the website (below & in Gallery) as proof of how and where the money has been spent.

*Carbon Compensators have no legal status and carry no tax benefits. However, Carbon Compensators purchased will be formally acknowledged with a Carbon Compensators Certificate.

 

You can work out how much carbon pollution your vehicles produce at the websites for Greenfleet and for EPA Victoria; www.epa.vic.gov.au/carboncalculator

 

Vehicle Offsets with Greenfleet and Bendigo Bank Carbon Offsets, cost about $57.00 a year per ‘average’ vehicle and are used to finance the planting of 17 trees for each ‘average’ car per year.

Greenfleet say that most Australian cars use unleaded petrol and have a fuel efficiency of about 11 litres per 100 kilometers. Also, the ‘average’ car generates about 275g CO2-e (greenhouse gases) per kilometer, which means about 4.3 tonnes of greenhouse gas per year.

Apparently, one litre of unleaded petrol generates around 2.5kg of greenhouse gas. One litre of diesel fuel generates about 2.9kg. One litre of LPG generates around 1.7kg.
